Christmas

We had a great Christmas weekend. On Christmas eve we had dinner at my parents house, thanks Mom for the ham, it was great! Of course we got to open our one gift, which is always pajamas, mine were the cute silk ones from VS that I really wanted.

On Christmas morning, Travis and I opened our gifts from each other and the ones from his family. My amazing husband bought me a Wii, which we have been playing non-stop since Christmas and I got the Wii fit to go with it. Travis got an Xbox from his family, so we are just all gamed out at our house. Its been really fun to play with our friends and our family.

We had Christmas breakfast at my parents house and hung out there during the day. Its always nice just to have a fun day together and to spend time with each other.

Of course Hudson got spoiled, I think he walked away with at least 30 new toys and surprisingly only ruined a couple of them so far.

I just want to thank everyone who made our holiday amazing and spoiled us to death. It was so nice to spend time with our family and friends.

P.S. I'll post more pics later, this is all I had right now!

Christmas Lights on Temple Square

I was very excited to go and see the lights on Temple Square this weekend. It always amazes me at how beautiful it is and just how many lights they put up. I loved the nativity sets from the different countries and the paper bag lights. I think with the warmer weather it encouraged more people to come out, because it was really crowded. But it was definitely worth it. I just love Christmas time!

O Christmas Tree

My favorite part about Christmas is putting up our tree. We usually get a real one, however when we moved into our house we wanted something really tall so we decided to invest in a 9.5' fake tree. The best part is that we can put it up on Thanksgiving and leave it till after Christmas and not worry about it dying...Here are a couple of pictures!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had Thanksgiving for the first time at our house this year. All of Travis' family came down from Wyoming for dinner. I was a little nervous to make the dinner by myself, but there were no complaints and I think it all turned out great. It really wasnt as bad as I made it out to be, I may even do it again. I had a kids table all set up for the boys and they loved it, they could even color on the table cloth, so that kept them entertained during dinner. It was fun to spend some time with our nephews, since we don't see them often. We watched our share of Christmas movies and put up our Christmas tree. It was a great weekend.

Utah vs TCU

We were so excited to go to the Utah vs TCU game last Thursday. It was definitely a little scary there for awhile but thankfully the Utes pulled out a win. There was so much excitement in the crowd that no one even seems to notice the cold. Now that we have TCU out of the way I just hope we can pull out a win over BYU. Its not a winning season unless you take down the cougars! GO UTES!

Halloween

I love Halloween...and I love dressing up. So on Friday night, we had our friends over for dinner and scary movies. We all dressed up and just had a good time. I loved opening the door for all the kids and seeing their Halloween costumes, which some were a little questionable. Hudson had a good time too, but just didn't understand why all these kids were coming to the door. He kept trying to get the candy as I put it in their buckets. It was fun, I'm sad to see it over already but am excited to start getting ready for Christmas!

Carving Pumpkins

On Friday night we got together with some friends and decided to carve pumpkins. The boys weren't too excited but ended up having a good time in the end. Travis carved his to look like a golf ball and club, it was pretty creative. I will be excited to put them out on Halloween, lets just hope they don't end up in the middle of the street!

On Saturday, Travis and I went to Lagoon for Frightmares and had a really good time. We didn't make it into any of the Haunted Houses since the line was so long, but we were able to ride all of the good rides and even got stuck at the top of Colossus for awhile.

Our weekend ended with a big Halloween dinner with my family at our house. We ate Jello Brain Salad, Finger Breadsticks and Pumpkin Cake. It was a nice way to Celebrate Halloween!

Our Nephews

On Friday, we were able to spend a few minutes playing with our nephews, Kaden and Keegan. They live in Wyoming, so we don't get to see them alot, but when we do its always fun. They enjoyed chasing Hudson and Travis around the backyard for awhile. Hopefully we wore them out enough so that they slept the whole way home!

A Very Cold Weekend...

This past Friday we left to go to Denver for the weekend. We stayed in Green River, Wyoming Friday night at Travis' parents house and when we woke up in the morning it was a complete blizzard.

We drove to Laramie for the Utah vs Wyoming game and sat in the cold with a 5 degree wind chill for 3 hours, but it was a great game cause Utah won...sorry hun!

(It was really cold, but we had great seats. Third row and 40 yard Line)

We drove into Denver on Saturday night and on Sunday we went to the Broncos vs Jacksonville game. This game too was freezing cold and the Broncos lost so it was kind of a disappointment, but it is always fun to be in an NFL stadium and to see the Broncos play live.

The whole weekend went by really fast but it was fun and really nice to get away for a few days.

Fall

I cannot believe that it is Fall already. I am kinda sad to see Summer go, since it didnt seem that it was here that long. I'm going to miss the long days and of course the warmth. I am excited though when the leaves change color, its just so pretty. I also enjoy all of the holidays that are coming up. We decorated our house for Halloween last week and we now have the scariest house on the street, I think the kids in the neighborhood are going to love it. We will definetly hit up a couple of Haunted Houses and Frightmares too to celebrate the holiday! I hope that we can enjoy some Fall and that Winter doesnt come too soon.

The Zoo

Last week Trav and I decided to go to the Zoo. We don't have any kids of our own to take with us so we invited our friends Craig and Sarah and their baby, so we all had an excuse to go. It was really fun. I loved seeing the white alligator and of course the bears, zebras and giraffe's...Travs favorite was the ape whose face looked like a toilet seat. It was a fun day, I'm glad we went. (Sorry the pictures are blurry, I had the camera on the wrong setting...oops.)

Cecret Lake

My friend Sarah, her baby Alayna and I went hiking on Saturday. We went up Little Cottonwood Canyon to Cecret Lake. It was so nice to be outside in the warm sun..and chilly air! We spent about an hour eating lunch and hanging out around the lake before we made the trek back to the car. We have been saying all summer that we were going to get out hiking and I am so glad that we did. You really forget about the rest of the world when you are in the mountains, I kinda hated to come down and back to reality.

Utah Man (or Woman) am I...

We were able to go to the Utah vs UNLV game on Saturday, our tickets were on the second row in the north end zone. We were so close you could actually hear them yelling on the field. The Utes did win and they had fireworks after. It was a great time. I hope that we will be able to go again this year...Go Utes!

Fantasy Football

We have begun another year of Fantasy Football...this year our league is Frenimies and is made up of Friends, Family and those we like to call Frenimies. We had our draft on Saturday and luckily I got third pick so of course I chose TOM BRADY. I was lucky enough to have him last year and did well so I'm excited to see what he has this year. More than anything it will be an excuse to watch him all season long without question from Trav. Good Luck to all you Fantasy Footballers!
UPDATE: I'm sad to say that Tom may be out for the rest of the season. He was only able to play one full quarter of the season before going down with a knee injury...I'm very sad and am not as excited for the season anymore, I can only hope he heals quickly.

Go Broncos!

A couple weeks ago we went to Denver with our friends Craig and Sarah and their baby for the Cowboys vs Broncos game. It was a fun weekend, even though it was 50 degrees and pouring rain the whole time. We had to buy full out rain suits for the game to keep as dry as possible. The game was fun though, and of course the Broncos won!!! The boys got to go golfing while Sarah and I got a lot of shopping in. It was so nice to get away and do something different. Next time though I'll take less rain!

Happy Anniversary

Today is our 4th Anniversary! I cannot believe how fast time flies. Its been an amazing 4 years and I'm looking forward to many more. We have had a lot of adventures and have made great memories.
For our anniversary Trav bought us a new video camera that I have been wanting, so hopefully I can share some of the videos of what we are doing. We are planning a big trip to Denver this weekend for a Broncos game, golf and of course lots of shopping. We are really excited to get away and just have fun.
Thanks Trav for everything. I love you so much and couldn't be happier!
Happy Anniversary Hun!

Flaming Gorge

We went to Flaming Gorge Reservoir this last weekend in Wyoming. Trav's family has a boat, so we spent the day with them fishing, tubing and waterskiing. Trav caught 6 fish in just over an hour. I found that fishing is not really my thing, but I sure enjoyed the sun. Tubing was fun, Trav is a maniac, trying to stand up in the tube and doing tricks, but of course I was the one that flew out. I got to waterski which was great, but painful, we were both pretty sore the next day. It was a good weekend. Its nice to be able to enjoy the time outside.

Golf Tournament

On Friday, Travis and I played in our first golf tournament together. Trav has played in several tournaments but this was a first for me. We had a great time, we definetly didnt come in first but I think that we did good. We had a fun foursome and enjoyed 4 hours of golf together. It was fun for Trav and I to be able to spend time together during the week. It's nice to miss work once and awhile and do something fun!

It's Finally Summer!

I am so excited that it is finally summer....no more snow, hopefully! I love that it is warm now and that the sun is up so much longer. Now when we come home from work it still seems like there is so much day left. We are excited for summer, we have some short weekend vacations planned, first we are going to Wyoming in July to visit Trav's family and to do a little boating, waterskiing and four-wheeling, that will be really fun and nice to spend some time with our nephews. Then in August we are going with some friends to Denver to see the Broncos vs Cowboys pre-season game and of course the boys will get in some golf while the girls go shopping! Hopefully we will get down to St. George as well for a golfing and gambling trip! Besides that we will just enjoy being outside and doing as much as possible while the warm weather lasts, I know it will go fast and the cold will be here before we know it.

Baby Season

It sure seems like it is baby season. Everyone we know is having a baby or just had a baby. My cousin and our really good friends just had baby girls within a few days of each other. Our friends baby, Alayna is so cute, I was so excited for her to come and I'm so glad that I get to spend lots of time with her. Its so fun to see how much all the babies look like their parents and to see how much they grow within the first few weeks. No babies for us yet, we will just enjoy playing with everyone elses and then giving them back when they cry!

Race for the Cure

A few weeks ago I ran in the Race for the Cure in Salt Lake. This was my first year running and it was a blast. I had heard from others just how many people participate but I don't think I fully understood till I was there. It was so amazing to see all the survivors and their families and to hear the stories of those who lost the battle. I'm really happy I ran and had a really good time. I will definitely be there again next year!

My First Triathlon

This last weekend Trav and I went to St. George for the weekend. My friend Michelle and I were racing in the SHAC triathlon on Saturday. This was my first race and it was so fun. I can't wait to do another. It was just a short Triathlon, no ironman for me....yet. I'm already looking into doing others. It was a fun weekend, we went golfing and to Mesquite and of course got some shopping in. It was nice to get away especially to somewhere warm.

Our newest addition!

For our anniversary this year Trav bought me a 4 week old cocker spaniel! I was so excited. He is so cute. We decided to name him Hudson. He is now about 9 months old and the ruler of the house. He definetly keeps life interesting and makes sure we follow his lead, but he is so cute you cant really argue. He is definetly one of the best gifts ever. I just love him.

Hawaii

This last November we went to MAUI for Thanksgiving. It was so much fun, we were there about a week and did everything you could imagine. Trav was able to go golfing at Kapalua, which he loved. I went along as the official photographer. We stayed in a condo overlooking the ocean and saw many turtles from the balcony. We took surfing lessons, went pairasailing, snorkeled and went to a Luau. It was such a great time. It seems like it was forever ago that we went. We are already planning when we can go back!

Our House

We have been in our house for just over a year now. We love it. Its in a great neighborhood in West Jordan with really great neighbors. Its so nice to have a yard and a garage. There is definetly room to spread out...even our dog has his own room. We have done lots of updating and changing and we always have ideas for new things. Its been great and we can be comfortable here for awhile.

Everyone else was doing it!

So I was thinking that we were kinda out of the loop since we didnt have a blog...so we have officially jumped on the band wagon and are official bloggers now! I have enjoyed seeing how everyone is doing and catching up with old friends so now it's our turn to give you an update on what we have been doing and all the things that we have planned! Enjoy!
